Hello Wrappers!

I have a question for you…

Are you exhausted, dog-tired, pooped, or just plain ol’ worn slap out? If you answered yes, then we are definitely in the same boat! These last few weeks have been full of non-stop, stress inducing tasks on top of my already busy schedule, which has left me mentally and physical drained. I’m literally running on fumes, ladies!

Our day to day lives become routine…Wake up, get kids to school, go to work, pick kids up, cook diner, then climb in bed just to do it all over again the next day. It becomes a very tedious process that can easily cause depression and/or anxiety, among other things. Then add in a spur of the moment plan, a sick child, or a sudden financial strain and the monotonous routines we are used to become so overwhelming we begin to feel hopeless, or in some cases, mentally unstable due to the stress.

This is why Self-care is so important! Everyone deserves a break from time to time. Actually, let me rephrase that, Everyone NEEDS a break from time to time. I know I do! So, clear your schedules, my friends, because it’s time for some much needed relaxation. I’m about to divulge the top 5 of my favorite ways to pamper myself without breaking the bank.

  1. Solitude & Meditation

This is completely free and moreover, helps free your mind of the white noise our everyday lives cause. Find a quiet space, whether it be locked in your bedroom or outside under the shade of your favorite tree. Just close your eyes, take some deep breaths, and enjoy the silence. Now, I personally have never achieved complete lack of thoughts, however, my meditation process does help me with mental clarity. Just a few minutes of complete silence does wonders but if you add a lavender, sandalwood, or rose essential oil to the process, those few minutes will feel like heaven.   1. Soaking in a hot bath

Again, another freebie! When you’re a busy mom alone time is a rare luxury.  Sometimes the only solitude we get is when we are in the bathroom.   1. Bake a tasty treat

Many people love to cook. I however, don’t enjoy it like I used to due to it being a chore I must complete every day. Hearing the words, “What’s for dinner” come from my family’s mouths irks me to no end. Cooking is just something that has to be done, therefore making it a part of our daily routines. But, something not so routine, is baking. Once you tuck the kiddos in bed, try baking yourself something special. The alone time in the kitchen, the anticipation of something sweet that you don’t have to share, is a gift like no other. It’s the little things…right? My most recent Sweet Treat was a recipe for Easy S’mores Sweet Pizza I found on Sandraseasycooking.com. Let me tell you…this was sinfully delicious and super easy to make. I enjoyed every bite and I know you will too!!!

  1. Mani time

We all like to feel pretty.
